Specialty Annuals: The majority of the spring
crop consists of many types of specialty annuals. These plants are called
"special" because they are hybrid annuals that can only be propagated by taking
cuttings from the mother plants; they cannot be reproduced from seed. These
hybrids, or new varieties are prized for their increased garden performance over
seed varieties and their out standing beauty. They are more difficult and more
expensive to produce and are not widely available.
Ready to Plant and Bloom: The plants are
shipped in 4-inch pots (about the size of a coffee mug) ready to be planted in
your garden or containers. This size pot is perfect planting mixed containers
and it's large size helps to avoid transplant shock. The plants generally are
not shipped in bloom to encourage root development into the new soil when you
plant them. They should be in bloom within two weeks after planting.
Shipping:
We ship nationwide starting in mid March
to our neighbors in the south until early June when the coldest part of the
country can safely plant their flowers. Our plants are shipped via UPS / Federal
Express, either air or ground depending upon the distance necessary to cover.
Our custom- designed boxes will cradle your plants from our greenhouse to your
home.
